"Wake up, sleeping beauty." I heard Simon mumbled as he extended his arm across my stomach. I turned my head facing him and he gave me a kiss. I smiled. "I think I like waking up next to you." I said. He smiled. "I think I like waking up next to you too." He said. "Good." I said. "But we probably shouldn't make it a habit yet." He said. I nodded. "Definatly not." I sat up. "You were pretty quick to answer that." He said. I stood up. "So." "That doesn't make me feel very good." He said. "Why?" I asked. "I'm not saying I don't want to sleep in the same bed as you. I just think if we make a habit of it, we will end up doing things that we shouldn't." "Robyn, you're an adult." He said. "You told me you didn't mind waiting. If you don't think you can wait anymore, then tell me right now so I know if I'm wasting my time or not." He sighed. "I can wait." He said. He looked at me. "I can try to wait." "Why do men have so much trouble waiting?" I asked. He shrugged his shoulders. I grabbed my things. "Well, I am going to go walk home. You should come over for dinner tonight." I said. "I work tonight." He said. "Oh okay. . ." I said. "See you tomorrow I guess." He said. I smiled. "Well, why don't you just come over after work?" I suggested. "Is that a good idea?" He asked. "I don't think it will hurt. I can leave you a blanket and a pillow on the floor." I said. "The floor?" He asked. "My futon is small." I said. He nodded. He looked dissapointed. "I guess we could manage to both squeeze in it though." I said. I knew it was a bad idea, but I didn't want to upset him. He smiled. "Okay." He said. "I'll see you then." He said. I walked home and took a shower. Then I started looking through my clothes to find something to wear to bed later. I didn't want anything revealing or even close to sexy. I found a pair of flannel pajamas to wear. I layed them out on my bed. There was a knock at my door. I was confused. I had no idea who it could be. I opened it and there was a UPS guy standing there with a large package. "Robyn?" He asked. "Yeah." I said. He held a clipboard out to me. "Sign here." He said handing me a pen. I signed the paper and he set the package down inside next to the door. "Thanks." I said. I looked at the return address and didn't recognize it. I opened the package. It was full of Italian pasteries. At the bottom of the box, there was a small card. I read it. It was from Madre and Russell. I got so excited! I put them all in my cubbards and called their house. "Hello?" Russell asked. "It's me! Thank you so much for the treats!" I said. "Did you see the chocolate biscotti I threw in there?" He asked. "Yes!" I said excited. "Cool." He said. "I have some news." "Good or bad? I don't think I can take anymore bad." I said. "Well, there are two things. I'm not sure if you will think either of them are bad." He said. "What is it?" I asked. "The first thing is Will got a motorcycle. I know how much you hate them and how unsafe you think they are." He said. "What? Tell him I said he is crazy! He better not get himself hurt! Tell him I am coming to visit for Christmas and he better not be in the hospital!" I said. He laughed. "Okay, so that one was bad news to you." He said. "He's crazy!" I said. "The other thing is. . ." He said. "What?" I asked. "My girlfriend Rose." He said. "She. . ." "What? Is she okay?" I asked. "Yeah." He said. "Okay, then what is it?" I asked. "She's pregnant and you're going to be an Aunt." He said. "Madre went bezerk on me." "Russell!" I shouted. I was surprised, excited and dissapointed at the same time. "I wasn't thinking." He said. "Honey, it isn't just your fault. She was there too." I said. "I know. She's really scared. Her parents were mean to her about it too. Her Mom called her a slut." He said. "Geez!" "It'll be okay." He said. "They like me at least." "I can not beleive you are having a kid before me!" I said. He laughed. "It's going to be hard, but it'll work out." He said. "It'll work out right?" "Yes." I said. "Absolutely." "It would have been weird if we both had a kid on the way right now." He said. "Then Madre really would have went bezerk." I giggled. "Yeah." "I'll have her call you when she gets home." He said. "Okay." I said. "Bye." "Later." He said and hung up. I layed down on my bed. I started to get upset again. His baby could have had a cousin close to it's age. "You just weren't meant to raise a child yet. It wasn't your time." I told myself.
