"Robyn, you're order is ready. Robyn!" I heard Simon say loudly. I opened my eyes. "Simon!" I shouted laughing. "You can't just barge in here when I'm sleeping. You know I don't get up this early." He laughed. He walked over and sat down on the floor next to me. I was so humiliated. I didn't want him to see the way I looked when I first woke up. I was also in my underwear underneath the covers. He handed me a coffee. "Come on, sit up." He said. "I sleep in my underwear." I said. "So. . ." He said as he put his hand over mine. "Simon." I said softly. "I'm sorry." He said taking his hand away from me. He stood up and walked to the door. "I'll stay here until you're ready." He said. I sat up and watched him. He put his hands in his pockets and started rocking back and forth slowly. I was afraid I had hurt his feelings. I pulled a jean skirt out of my closet and a fitted t-shirt. I went to the bathroom and got dressed. I pulled my hair up and put some mascara on. I walked back out and he was still standing there staring at the door. "I'm done, silly." I said. He turned around. "Robyn, I'm confused. I thought you liked me." He said. I looked down at the floor and felt my eyes start to tear up. "Was I wrong?" He asked as he stepped closer to me. I shrugged my shoulders without looking up. He sighed. "Let's go." He said handing me the coffee again. I took the coffee from him and followed him out the door. I wiped my eyes. "I thought we could go to the little amusement park by the bay." He said, walking ahead of me. I smiled. "That sounds like fun." I said. He stopped and let me catch up to him. We walked to his car and he drove us to the park. "Roller Coaster?" He asked. I smiled and nodded. He sighed and put his arm around me. "It's okay that you're not attracted to me." He said. He bought a few tickets and we got in line for the roller coaster. "The line should slow down soon. You want to hit the Ferris Wheel first?" He asked. "Sure." I said. I took his hand and he looked at me. I knew it was going to take me a while to let myself get close to a guy again and I didn't want to rush. I was afraid to rush. We got in line for the Ferris Wheel. I looked up and it was so tall. "Oh my god." I said. "What?" He asked. "I've never been on one of these that big." I said. "You'll be fine." He said. "You'll love the view from the top." I smiled. When it was our turn to get on, he helped me climb into the seat. He got in next to me and put his arm around me. My stomach felt a little un-easy as we got higher and higher. "See. You can see everything." He said. I looked at him. "Simon?" I said softly. He turned his head towards me. "What?" He asked. "I do find you attractive." I said. He looked away. When we got off the Ferris Wheel, he just started walking ahead of me towards the Roller Coaster. I rushed to catch up to him. The line was a lot shorter already, which I thought was pretty strange. We had only been on the Ferris Wheel for about fifteen minutes. We got on the Roller Coaster and it started to go. "I meant what I said." I told him. "I know." He said. He put his hand on my leg and as the coaster was going up for the big drop, his hand went higher up my leg. It made me feel nervous, but it added to the rush of the ride. He reached his hand between my legs and I stopped him as we reached the highest point of the track. "Sorry." He shouted. I just smiled at him. "I was just thinking. . . well, you don't want to know what I was thinking!" He yelled. We both laughed as the coaster went down the huge drop and spun around upside down. We both screamed with excitement. It took one more big loop and it was over. "That was so much fun!" I said smiling. He stood up. "It would have been more fun if you would have let me. . . you know." He said as he climbed over me and got out of the coaster. I giggled. "You're blushing." He said. "Yeah I can tell." I said. He helped me out. I couldn't stop giggling. "Now what?" He asked. I just shrugged my shoulders. He laughed. "Did I make you uncomfortable?" He asked. "No." I said. "No." He looked at me and smiled. "No. I swear." "I think you should win me one of those." I said pointing to a big Curious George stuffed animal. "It is impossible to knock down those milk bottles." He said walking up to the game. "I've seen people do it." I said. He laughed. He handed the guy two dollars and he gave him three balls to throw. He threw the first one and totally missed. "I blame you." He said looking at me. "I'm all nervous now." I laughed. "Maybe I'll kiss you if you win me the Curious George." I said. He stared at me with shock. He picked up his second ball and threw it. It knocked down all the milk bottles. I cheared. "You better give him that kiss now, young lady." The man said smiling and pointing at me. He threw the third ball and totally missed again. The guy handed him the Curious George and he gave it to me. I smiled. "Thank you so much." I said hugging it. "Now about that kiss." He said. I laughed. "You said it." He said holding his arms out smiling. I took two steps towards him and put my hand on his chest. I leaned in closer to him and kissed him quickly. "There." I said. "You call that a kiss." He said laughing. "Come on. you can do better than that." "Maybe when you drop me back off at my place." I said. "But I don't want to wait." He wined. I laughed. "Let's get some cotton candy."

"Whatever it is that's holding you back from being with me, I hope it doesn't hold you back for much longer." He said softly. "And if it does, then I guess we will just have to wonder how it would have been." He let go of me and I smiled at him. He smiled back and walked away. I rushed into my apartment and ran to the window. I watched him get in his car and drive off. I still could not stop smiling. I let out a scream. I was so happy at that moment. I finally admited to myself that I really was starting to like Simon more and more. I was still so afraid of getting too close to him though. I began to think about all my old flings and how much they all meant to me. I boxed up all of my old photos and journals. I even boxed up the few gifts I received from my old friends, including the bracelet Charlie gave me. I put the box in the back of my closet. The only photo I left out was the one I had out of me and my best friends in high school. "I can do this. I can move on." I told myself. I smiled and layed down on the floor. I stared at the ceiling. All I could think about was Simon. I knew he was the doorway to my future, I just had to open it.
