"You said you were going to be quick." I wined as I spead up to catch up to Luke in the frozen food section.
He laughed. "You can hop in the cart if you want."
I rolled my eyes. "Just hurry."
"Do you want the pancakes or what?" He asked with frustration.
I smiled and nodded.
"Alright then." He said.
"I need to go see Travis before I leave." I said. "Do you want to stop by on the way back to your place?"
"Everyone's waiting for breakfast at the house." He said.
"So. They can wait. I won't be long. I just want to say goodbye in person." I said.
He sighed. "Alright."
He finished getting the last of his groceries and paid. We loaded the bags into his car and headed to Travis' house. Luke took my hand. "You've got to fix things with Caleb." I said.
"He's the one who has to fix things." He said looking away.
"Don't you think he has reason to be upset?" I asked.
He sighed. "Let's not talk about it."
I closed my eyes. "You never want to talk about anything anymore." I said softly.
He didn't say anything. We pulled up in Travis' driveway. I walked up to the door and knocked. "Be right there!" I heard him yell. After about a minute, he opened the door. "Hey you." I said giving him a hug. "I wanted to say goodbye in person."
"Clarissa!" He shouted.
Clarissa came running up to the door. She stopped in front of me and looked at the floor. "You remember Robyn, don't you baby?" He said to her laughing.
She nodded. I got down on my knees so I was at her level. "Hi Clarissa." I said.
She smiled and looked up at me. "Can I have a hug?" I asked. She smiled really big and held out her arms. I gave her a big hug.
"Billy's asleep." He said.
"Let him know I said hi." I said.
He smiled. "I will."
"I'll see you on Christmas." I said.
"Okay."
"Bye." I said giving him another hug.
"Bye. Thanks for coming by." He said. "Miss you."
"I miss you too!" I said.
He smiled. "Bye Clarissa." I said.
She waved at me smiling. "See ya." I said to Travis.
I tried not to cry as I walked away. I got in the car. "What's wrong?" Luke asked as he started the car.
"Nothing. Drive." I said.
He shook his head and pulled away. "I just miss everyone, goodness." I said.
"Then stay."
"I can't."
"Well, then don't complain." He said.
We went back to his house. I was a little frustrated with him, but I let it go. We carried in the groceries and I helped him put the food away. We made breakfast together and we ate with Simon. We packed up our stuff so it was ready to go. We relaxed for a few hours and as I was pouring myself a glass of water, Caleb walked into the house. "Just here to get the rest of my stuff. Is Luke here?" He asked. A guy walked in behind him. I didn't recognize him. "I'll be outside." The guy said.
"I'll go find him." I said.
"I think I know my way around my condo." He said rudly.
I watched him walk into their bedroom. Luke walked in from the back yard and started washing his hands. "Where are my books?" Caleb asked as he walked into the kitchen.
Luke looked up and didn't say anything.
"I need to get the rest of my things." Caleb told him.
"So this is it." Luke said.
"I'll pay my part of the rent until you can get a room mate." Caleb said.
Lukes eyes started to tear up. "I don't know where your books are." He said.
Caleb stormed down the hall and Luke started crying. Caleb walked back into the kitchen. "You had one of my books the other day." He said. "Why are you crying?"
"Do you really have to ask?" Luke asked as he leaned back into the counter.
"What?" He asked.
"The person I love is moving out just because I was comforting a friend." Luke told him.
"Oh comforting? Is that what it was?" Caleb asked sarcastically. "Hugging is comforting a friend!" He shouted. "Not kissing!"
"It didn't mean anything." Luke said.
"Are you in love with her?" Caleb asked pointing at me.
"No! Get it through your thick skull!" Luke shouted.
"Why did you kiss her?" He asked.
"We were both upset about Charlie." I said.
"Did I ask you?" Caleb said looking at me.
"Caleb, I love you." Luke said.
Caleb's eyes started to tear up now.
"You two love eachother so much." I said. "It's incredible. Don't ruin it. I shouldn't even have come here. I didn't get anywhere. All I did was ruin more of your lives. I don't belond here."
Caleb took a deep breath. "I heard you made your peace with Charlie." He said.
I nodded.
"I'm sorry." He said.
"It's okay." I said. "I think it's time for me to say goodbye."
"I'm sorry." Luke told Caleb.
"Me too." Caleb said. "I don't want to move out."
I stepped closer to them and took one of their hands in mine. "I love you guys." I said.
"I'm sorry." Caleb told Luke again. He gave him a kiss.
"Bye, Robyn." Caleb told me. He gave me a hug. I hugged Luke and Simon walked into the kitchen.
"We love you too." Caleb said to me smiling.
"Everything okay in here? I dozed off on the couch." He said.
"Yup." I said smiling. "You ready to head over to say goodbye to my Mom and head to the airport?"
"Yup." He said. "Nice meeting you both." He told Luke and Caleb. He shook their hands and we left. Simon offered to drive the car back to my Mom's house. He held my hand as we drove off. I looked out the side mirror as my town got smaller. I had to try very hard not to cry when I thought of Luke and everyone else. Simon put his hand on my leg and squeezed it. I looked up at him and he smiled. "You'll be okay." He said.
